The speculators who put their money down on candidates at
PredictIt.org are bullish about Ted Cruz winning tonight’s presidential debate
on CNN, while Donald Trump is the most popular pick for those looking to cash
in on the Las Vegas event.

PredictIt is a small-stakes site for those who want some
skin in the game of presidential politics. It’s technically not a betting site
as it’s operated more like the New York Stock Exchange than a fantasy football
league.

“PredictIt is a real-money political prediction
market; the stock market for politics,” according to their website. “A project
of Victoria University of Wellington (in New Zealand), PredictIt has been established
to research the way markets can forecast future events. Our job is to study the
wisdom of the crowd, yours is to make your most educated prediction.” 

Heading into tonight’s debate, Cruz is the favorite, with
his stock at 32 cents on the dollar. That means the PredictIt crowd likes the
Texas senator’s chances of getting the biggest bump in the polls after the Sin City Showdown. Trump is trading at 45 cents on the losing side, meaning he is
expected to suffer the biggest slip in the polls.

At the same time, long-term investors kinda like the looks of
Marco Rubio.
