Ron Fournier, columnist
for the National Journal and a Detroit native, paid a visit to Michigan’s One
Tough Nerd, Rick Snyder, and was charmed. Fournier writes that Snyder is
refreshing in his pragmatic approach to governing, a job that the governor
approaches with “the passion of an evangelist.”
Here’s a little slice of
the Fournier assessment:
the Fournier assessment:
“The cynic inside me is
wary of a politician who promises to reform government. I’ve seen Democrats
like Bill Clinton and Republicans like George W. Bush wrap themselves in
the mantle of change while they pursued conventional courses. If Snyder is
a faux reformer, he disguises it well behind gobs of data and the passion
of an evangelist.”
