Geraldine Ferraro, the first woman to run for VP on a major party ticket, died this morning.  She was 75.
According to The Washington Post, Ferraro died at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she was being treated for blood cancer. She died just before 10 a.m., losing a 12-year battle against multiple myeloma.
Ferraro was the choice of Walter Mondale for the 1984 Democratic ticket. But the Mondale-Ferraro bid was buried in a landslide, as Ronald Reagan won 49 states, the biggest margin in a presidential election since FDR.
