House Democrats are inviting the public to an Education Task Force meeting on Tuesday, April 19, in Warren to hear concerns about how the governor’s budget proposal will affect Michigan schools, students and the economy.

The discussion also touch on potential constitutional issues concerning the budget’s impact on the original intent of Proposal A of 1994. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring a written copy of their statements, questions or concerns to submit to the task force.
 The event will feature Democratic Reps. Lesia Liss of Warren, Jon Switalski of Warren, Marilyn Lane of Fraser, Ellen Cogen Lipton of Huntington Woods and Jim Ananich of Flint. Lipton and Ananich are members of the House Appropriations School Aid Subcommittee.

The forum will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Warren Woods Tower High School, 27900 Bunert, just west of Groesbeck, in the library conference room.
