Shelby Township Supervisor Rick Stathakis went into the Lincoln Dinner while he still had the cloud of recall hanging over his head.
With his job on the line, Stathakis bought a full-page ad in the program handed out to each attendee at the big GOP fundraiser. He also managed to be the person who delivered the invocation just before the meal was served. And he appeared to have his own photographer at the event, snapping numerous publicity photos of the supervisor wherever he went.
In the sport of politics, they say the best defense is a good offense.
