Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus lightened up Thursday’s Macomb Lincoln Dinner by poking a little fun at himself. Obviously, the RNC chief has endured countless questions and jokes about his admittedly “bizarre” name, and he addresses the subject head-on when speaking or giving interviews.
“I assure you, I’m as normal as they come,” he told the crowd of 280 GOP stalwarts. The name, he said, “is what happens when a Greek and a German get married. It’s a cultural disaster.”
A native of Kenosha, Wisc., Priebus advised that his first name rhymes with “pints.” He added that someone recently pointed out that Reince, minus the vowels, spells: RNC PRBS.
