Mike Allen from Politico offers this as a big sign Sarah Palin isn’t running in 2012: Neither she, nor anyone on her behalf, is courting top donors, early-state activists or experienced political operatives — all of whom are getting locked down, day by day, by other GOP contenders.
Allen sets the likely GOP field this way (in order of relevance): 1-Mitt Romney, 2-Tim Pawlenty, 3-Haley Barbour, 4-Jon Huntsman, 5-Newt Gingrich, 6-Rick Santorum.
On “Morning Joe,” Joe Scarborough said that Donald Trump doesn’t appreciate not being taken seriously: “I talked to him yesterday on the phone … and he said, ‘Most people out there think this is a joke, that I’m doing this for publicity. Imagine what happens the day I announce I am actually running for president.'”
In addition, one of Trump’s closest confidantes said that he might begin his campaign by writing himself a $2 billion campaign check. Wow.
