Here’s a report just put online by Talking Points Memo, based on a story published by The Hill:
“The National Republican Senatorial Committee has cut the last of its TV advertising that it reserved for Republican candidate Terri Lynn Land in the Michigan race for U.S. Senate, according to The Hill.
“The independent expenditure arm for the NRSC has decided to cut its remaining television reservations in the race, meaning it is pulling over $850,000 out of Michigan.
“It’s yet another sign of how a race that Republicans once touted as a potential pickup has slipped through their fingers. Polling has shown Rep. Gary Peters, the Democratic nominee in the race, leading Land (by an average of 9 points).
“Republicans stressed to The Hill that the move was not really a sign of Republicans calling it quits, rather it was just a reallocation of resources because of Land’s strong ground game as well as her fundraising.”
The GOP did not explain what they meant in claiming the candidate has a strong ground game.
As for fundraising, Land had $4.8 million in the bank in June and raised $8.6 million, $2.9 million of which was out of her own pocket. Peters, meanwhile, had $3.3 million at the end of June and raised almost $7 million.

Land is martyring herself so she can achieve her political dream job: chairman of the Michigan Republican Party.
I disagree anonymous. To be the chairman of the Michigan Republican Party requires you go get out there and meet with the voters and with the donors and to answer all of their questions and to be able to draw up a game plan for victory. Stop me when anything I said resembles Terri Lynn Land.
