When it came time to cut the ribbon to officially open the new border security center at Selfridge Air National Guard Base this morning, huge pairs of scissors – each about two feet long – were handed out to the participants.
With a crowd of Department of Homeland Security officials looking on, Gov. Rick Snyder cracked a smile as he eyeballed the huge shears in his hands. That’s when someone from Homeland Security drew a hearty laugh from the crowd as he yelled out: “You’ll never make it through an airport with one of those.”
