Terri Lynn Land and Democrat Gary Peters prepare for
their first public forum together on Wednesday (10:30 a.m. to noon), Peters has
snagged the Michigan Realtors endorsement and Land continues to hammer at
Peters’ environmental stances.
A Land web ad released last Thursday says that Peters is
backed by the “billionaire radical” Tom Steyer, who has targeted several
Republican Senate candidates for defeat. The ad also claims that Peters
supports fringe positions on climate change such as cap-and-trade, which is a “job killer.”

At a Lansing event this morning, the Realtors PAC,
representing the political interests of 23,000 real estate agents across
Michigan, endorsed Peters in part based on the Democratic congressman’s 2011
legislation that was viewed as a bipartisan attempt to boost home affordability
by reforming the mortgage market.

Realtor Nanci Rands said: “Gary’s strong Michigan roots and
business background make him the kind of independent-minded, common-sense
problem solver we so desperately need in Washington.”
