In an interview on Fox News, Republican Sen.
Saxby Chambliss of Georgia said the Boston bombings investigation is “back to
square one.”

Chambliss, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee,
said the “person of interest” questioned in a Boston hospital is no longer
suspected of anything. He apparently fled the scene as the explosions went off,
just as thousands of others did, and was tackled by an onlooker largely because
he is of Arabic descent.

According to the senator, this supposed suspect has a
story that checks out and, after conducting a search of his home, authorities now believe he had nothing to do with the
bombings.

Chambliss also said that investigators have no idea if
the bombings were the product of a foreign or domestic perpretator, or whether
they could have been instigated by a “lone wolf” bomber with no particular political agenda.

More than 24 hours after the blasts, no one has taken
responsibility for the attack.
