Another political fundraising deadline is approaching on March 31 and both parties are begging for cash so their quarterly Federal Election Commission report looks impressive.
Vice President Joe Biden, in his latest sales pitch, takes things to the extreme. Though the 2012 election is still 18 months away, Biden tells loyal Democrats that it’s now or never. The Democrats have 23 Senate seats to defend, and they need your money. Now.
“The end of the month’s FEC deadline is a crucial test of our strength,” Biden said in an e-mail message. “By giving to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, you have the power to prove to the pundits and our opponents that grassroots Democrats are standing together to defend our firewall.
“Click here to give $5 or more to the DSCC. The DSCC must raise $233,533 by March 31 to build campaign infrastructure. Not meeting this deadline will mean not having the resources to win.”
