The Republican leadership of Rep. Todd Courser’s
congressional district has issued a letter lambasting him for his behavior and
for his refusal to resign from office.

The 10th District GOP chairman, Stan Grot,
said the letter focused on Courser because the disgraced Lapeer County Republican
represents a portion of the 10th District. Rep. Cindy Gamrat,
Courser’s sidekick in the sex scandal that’s rocked Lansing, was already
chastised and told to resign by her home team, the Allegan County Republican
Party, Grot pointed out.

The hard-hitting message directed at Courser, which was
approved by the 10th District GOP Committee on Monday, makes several
references to Courser’s hypocritical and “devious” mentions of God when
discussing his legislative work and now the behavior that may drive him from
office.

“Your actions have deeply harmed the Republican family
brand,” the letter said.

Here’s the full text:

The good people of Lapeer County afforded you the
opportunity to serve in Lansing — our state’s

capital. They trusted your judgment and they trusted you
to represent their views and needs.

During your campaign you made promises and committed
yourself to work on the people’s

behalf. However, through your deceptive actions you have
squandered the opportunity to

represent the people with decency and integrity and
instead humiliated our community.

Through your own actions you have brought dishonor and
embarrassment to the people of

Lapeer County and Michigan’s 10th Congressional District.

You profess to be a Christian and claim to have a daily
conversation with God. You

demonstrate a selfish attitude by invoking God’s name
while quietly working to promote your

devious agenda. You undermine the values God teaches us
through His words. By your own

actions you have proven yourself a hypocrite. You
subjected your family, friends and

constituents to public embarrassment and humiliation.
Instead of resigning to begin the healing

process for all parties involved, you decided to double
down and continue to embarrass us.

Your actions have deeply harmed the Republican family
brand.

Therefore, the 10th GOP Congressional District Executive
Committee unanimously joins U.S.

Congresswoman Candice Miller, Republican National
Committeewoman Kathy Berden, and

countless other conservative Republicans across the State
of Michigan and demand your

resignation immediately from the Michigan House of
Representatives. Your resignation will

spare the people of Lapeer County the continued agony of
deception and will allow a competent

Republican to be elected to represent the good people of
Lapeer County.

Respectfully submitted on behalf of the entire 10th GOP
Congressional District,

Stanley T. Grot
