The public is certainly not in step with the tea party types who are engaged by author Steven F. Hayward’s grading of the presidents since 1920, based on their constitutionalist values. See previous post.
 
A new Gallup poll found that Americans believe history will judge Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton best among recent presidents and Richard Nixon and George W. Bush worst. Americans are currently divided on how history will rate Barack Obama. 
The poll asked voters to judge all presidents since 1980 as outstanding/above average, average, or below average/poor.
