It’s no secret that the Board of Commissioners and county Executive Mark Hackel have developed a tense relationship as they work out a myriad of issues created by the new charter government. But that doesn’t mean everyone involved has lost their sense of humor.
At Friday’s State of the Township address by Chesterfield Township Supervisor Michael Lovelock, county board Chair Kathy Vosburg was asked to say a few words. She related this story:
She was sitting in her eighth floor office in the Administration Building on Thursday when she heard some strange noises at her window. There, in the howling wind, was a window washer trying to hold on tight and keep his squeegee on the glass as his platform, supported by a few ropes, swayed in the breeze.
Vosburg took a photo of the window washer, with the streets of Mount Clemens, including a pile of rubble from a construction project, eight floors below. She e-mailed the photo to Hackel with this message: “And we thought our job was tough.”
