UPDATE: It now
appears that the list of “jihad” Republicans was originally compiled by a Baptist minister from Flint, Stacy Robinson-Swimp, who
is the former President of the Fredrick Douglass Society. The original post surfaced
on Jan. 26 on the RightMichgan.com Facebook page.

The controversial list of “stealth jihad” Republicans in Michigan that recently
surfaced is being blamed on the “hijacking” of the Delta County Republican
Party’s Facebook page.
A rogue element within the Delta County GOP accused more than a dozen people of following a “homosexual and stealth
jihad” agenda, including such Republican notables as national GOP Chairman Reince
Priebus, Attorney General Bill Schuette and several members of Congress.
Apparently, Congressman Tim Walberg was especially miffed at his inclusion on
the list.

Dr. Carol Kolinsky, chair
of the Delta County Republican Party, explained the situation to me in an email
conversation.

The tea party’s
infamous bad boy, Doug Sedenquist, was purportedly the man who posted the list. (Sedenquist has been repeatedly identified as the Delta GOP’s
vice chair, but his accurate title was co-chair.)

Sedenquist’s defender
on Facebook is fellow U.P. conservative Devin Lawrence, co-chair of the Schoolcraft County GOP and one of Sedenquist’s
talk-radio cronies.

In response to
Lawrence’s claim that the list was authorized by the Delta County
Republican Party, Kolinsky said that these two rogue elements are using “scare
tactics to try and control the party as much as they can from their small
vantage point.”

She also commented
that Sedenquist, who recently plead guilty to criminal charges and is awaiting
his day in court on another batch of charges, was never interested in the
nuts-and-bolts of party building. After he was chosen as the Delta GOP’s
co-chair, Kolinsky said, he “spent most, if not all
of his time, trying to get noticed in the larger Republican Party and not
helping with local duties.”

Here is Kolinsky’s explanation of how the list
ended up online:

Doug Sedenquist and

Both offered to make Facebook

As chair, I agreed to
let (Sedenquist) make a Facebook page and hired out the Delta County website
production to Devin Lawrence.

They initially were doing
great jobs but at least Doug was not active in his county, as far as attending
meeting(s) or running content he was placing on the Facebook page past the
chair or other members of the executive staff before speaking for all of Delta
county with “his” voice.

He never has given up
the admin password to the Facebook page so that content could be edited by
the chair. After multiple request(s) to both Doug and Devin, I was
recently (Jan 28th or thereabouts) given the admin password to the web
page, which (is) now undergoing revision.

What they have posted
is not based on truth and certainly should not be taken as truth.

As with everything
else on the Internet, verification is crucial to good reporting. Doug has been
removed from his co-chair position not because of the posts but rather due to
inactivity in the local county.

So the Delta Republicans agree with everything Sedenquist has said and only object because he didn't attend local meetings?
Couldn't Doug's "inactivity" have something to do with the fact he was in jail? I mean come on… you people in Delta County are so heartless…. I thought every Republican was allowed at least a 2 month "sabbatical" to catch up with the little people in prison?
Stacy Swimp is the one who authored the article. Bapitist minister. So much for your journalism skills.
Gosh… that sounds so familiar. Someone uncited authors an article, someone posts it without fact checking it, and when they get caught they claim it isn't their article. It's almost like Deja Vu… I know it will come to me in a minute
The Facebook page existed long before Carol Kolinsky became involved with the Delta Country GOP. The post in question was written by a Baptist minister named Stacy Robinson-Swimp, he's also the former President of the Fredrick Douglass Society. The original post can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2337157886/permalink/10151932864597887/ on the RightMichigan.com Facebook group. The above blog post is filled with untruths, and is slanderous.
Publishing party squabbles between rogue elements from small, outlying GOP groups serves a purpose. It shifts attention from important issues such as the Benghazi cover up, the IRS scandal, NSA spying, Fast and Furious, and the obamacare debacle to hot button items such as gay rights and islamophobia. Meanwhile, the deaths of 4 good Americans goes unpunished,, the IRS continues to intimidate conservative groups, the NSA continues to collect data, and the death of a brave Border Patrol agent goes unsolved. These scandals and injustices are allowed to continue with almost no critical comment from the liberal press. It has long been agreed that we need a free press to protect our liberties. We also need is an unbiased press.
Just another politics of personal destruction article. Chad's legacy.
I've never understood how Doug Sedenquist is free to even use the internet, considering he's been accused (albeit not convicted of) using the internet for threatening and malicious purposes in two different states.
Maybe the court order against him expired(?) because last we heard:
"He cannot be in possession of any firearms or use a computer or the internet, according to court records."
http://www.dailypress.net/page/content.detail/id/545179/GOP-official-faces-charges-in-Delta-County.html
While it's obvious this is a UP version of a trailer trash reality show, what's going on here is potentially computer crimes and most certainly identity theft. Right or wrong, it's not something a smart person who just got released from a court order barring such behavior would want to be anywhere near.
I'm starting to see a trend here with the addition of Stacy Swimp MDOC #238119 who was until just a few years ago a ward of the state for assault with the intent to commit murder with a firearm
And you're slipping Chad… where is the mugshot?

You know, Chad, I trust you to keep me informed about important political stories particularly in Macomb county. But is this really worth reading? The tone of the quotes have a he said/she said quality of the school yard. Why should we care?
Smarmy reporting… even below the standards of the newspaper checkout rags. Too bad it's only digital… or I'd use it for the bottom of a bird cage.
