Dennis Lennox, a Republican activist and freelance writer, tweeted this morning that Gov. Snyder will skip the GOP national convention in Cleveland. Lennox followed up with this email message:

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, titular head of the Michigan Republican
Party, will attend this weekend’s Republican State Convention just
down the street from his office in the state capital of Lansing.

However, Snyder is “unlikely” to run for national delegate, according
to sources. Recall Snyder was chairman of Michigan’s delegation at the
2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa.

The Governor’s Office put out a press release a short time ago to announce that Snyder will deliver a speech to the state convention at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
