Monday’s appearance by Donald Trump running mate Mike Pence at the Macomb County Lincoln Dinner is a sellout.

According to the Macomb Republicans’ website, all 900-plus tickets were sold, at a price of $60 each, to hear the Indiana governor’s remarks. Premier tickets for the GOP fundraiser, which included a pre-dinner private reception with Pence, were priced at $175.

Pence’s visit comes as the Trump-Pence ticket has seen their election chances slipping in Michigan. Recent statewide polls show Democrat Hillary Clinton with leads of 7 to 11 points. But a Detroit News survey found Trump with a 20-point lead in Macomb, so the suburban county represents a stronghold that the GOP needs to maintain.

Linda Torp, chair of the Macomb GOP, told the News that the 940 tickets for the event at Palazzo Grande banquet hall in Shelby Township sold quickly. Torp said it will be the largest crowd at a Lincoln Day dinner during her four years as chair of the county party. A March 2015 Lincoln Dinner headlined by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, when he was preparing a presidential run, drew nearly 900 people.
