The League of Women Voters of Michigan announced this morning the locations of five more town hall meetings on redistricting reform.
The LWV previously announced the launch of 30 town halls throughout the fall to educate the public on the importance of redistricting reform. These presentations explore how legislative lines are drawn in Michigan and how that process could be made more transparent and nonpartisan.

“Voters should choose their politicians, not the other way around,” said Judy Karendjeff, president of the LWV of Michigan.
“Politicians are elected to represent us, but partisan redistricting shields them from being held accountable because they are choosing the people that will vote for them. Our presentations will reveal the consequences of partisan redistricting and work to identify a fairer system that makes politicians accountable again.”

A complete list of town halls by date and location can be found on the LWV website at: www.lwvmi.org. The events are free and open to the public.
