A Tennessee county commissioner has
introduced a proposed resolution that
begs God for mercy and implores the Almighty to spare the county during “his
coming wrath” over the Supreme Court’s legalization of gay marriage.
“We adopt this Resolution before God
that He pass us by in His Coming Wrath and not destroy our County as He did
Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighboring cities,” the text reads in part.
By a 10-5 vote, the Blount County
commissioners rejected the agenda item and adjourned without taking up any matters
on Tuesday’s committee agenda. That essentially killed the resolution.

It’s not clear if Commissioner Karen
Miller’s resolution was predicting some type of weather calamity or if it was
linked at all to predictions by an online Christian group that the world would
end on Wednesday – yesterday. It didn’t.
The Blaze, which treated the committee’s action as an outrage, reported that Miller said she will likely reintroduce the measure, setting the stage for continued debate.

Thought one had to smear lamb's blood over your door for angel of death to pass you by. So now all we need is a passed resolution. Another crackpot .christian,
