Michael Moore has been dismissed as a left-wing lunatic by at least half the nation because of some of the crazy things he says. Yes, he can certainly be his own worst enemy.
During his appearances at the pro-union rallies in Madison, Moore has repeatedly said that the wealthy are hoarding trillions of dollars, to the detriment of the economy and state and federal tax coffers. The filmmaker offered up this little factoid:
“Just 400 Americans – 400 – have more wealth than half of all Americans combined.” Not only is that an amazing statement, it also happens to be true, according to Politifact.com. If only Moore would stick to the facts and not go off on one of his power-to-the-people rants.
On MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show,” Moore, being interviewed just a couple hours after the Wisconsin Senate voted to virtually eliminate collective bargaining for public employee unions, called for a “revolt” that could spread across the country.
Holding up a pair of handcuffs, he spoke directly into the camera, warning the Wall Street crowd and the big bankers that those leading the revolution will put all of them in prison.
“This is what’s coming for you. You’ve taken our money, we want the money back. You’ve taken our jobs overseas, we want those jobs back. … This Madison movement has turned into a Mad Nation. There are places all over the country where this is going on. … The good news is, there’s a lot more of us than there are of them.”
