In the weird world of the Macomb County public works commissioner’s race, the Republican, outgoing Congresswoman Candice Miller, accuses her opponent, Democratic incumbent Tony Marrocco, of engaging in crude behavior toward women that is similar to Donald Trump. But she is still endorsing Trump for president.

Meanwhile, Marrocco demands that Miller withdraw her endorsement of Trump. In doing so, Marrocco mentions many of the controversial statements and actions of the Republican presidential nominee without, of course, mentioning that his GOP opponent has compared him to Trump.

Here is a statement released by Marrocco on Saturday, following the release of the tape containing lewd Trump remarks, in which he again calls on Miller to renounce her support for Trump:

Candice Miller has been Donald Trump’s biggest supporter in Michigan for months. She supported him despite his lewd descriptions of women, his mocking of disabled people, his blatant tax evasion, his cheating of the working people he’s hired, and his staunch opposition to the auto rescue plan that saved thousands of jobs right here in Macomb County.  These new revelations only confirm what we’ve all known for over a year.  Donald Trump is unfit to be President of the United States.

How Miller can still stand by Trump and endorse his statements is beyond reason, unless you are a Washington politician who’s lost her moral compass. I am calling on Miller to do what hundreds of prominent Republicans have already done: renounce her endorsement of Trump and stand with the people of Michigan whom she claims to represent, rather than the Washington interests that pay her off.

Now that Miller’s endorsee Donald Trump has proven beyond a doubt how disgusting he is, Miller practices Washington politics at its worst by refusing to admit her own mistake, and renouncing her endorsement. This mirrors Miller’s refusal to own up to her own failed record on protecting Michigan’s water.

Miller just wants to distract voters long enough to cash-in on her fourth pension.  The trouble is, the voters aren’t easily fooled. They understand that Miller will do and say anything to get elected; even back a candidate who insults women and hates autoworkers.
