With 26 percent of precincts reporting in the Republican race for county executive, David Novak of Chesterfield Township has a lead of 48.7 percent to 34.7 percent for Erin Stahl of St. Clair Shores. Randell Shafer, also of the Shores, who lost to Democratic incumbent County Executive Mark Hackel, trails badly at 16.6 percent.
In the top race for county board — in eastern Warren’s District 1 — Andrey Duzyj and Bill Barnwell are neck and neck with 40 percent of the precincts in. Duzyj’s lead is 38.9-37.3 percent.
