Congressman Sandy Levin (D-Royal Oak) still has not
commented or released a statement about the recent arrest of one of his top
aides, who allegedly thrashed his male lover with a shovel and lunged at him
with a knife.
According to Deadline Detroit, the incident took place on
Oct. 8 around 12:30 a.m. in a Baltimore home. Relying on information originally
reported by Roll Call, Deadline Detroit’s piece said that Levin’s online
communications director, Tim Foster, allegedly brutally beat his boyfriend, who
was hospitalized with abrasions and bruises on his upper back, neck and
torso.

Foster was arrested last week and later released pending
a court arraignment. He faces
second-degree assault and dangerous weapons charges and is on unpaid leave from
Levin’s office. The boyfriend told police he tried escaping, but Foster struck
him in his upper back with a small shovel and continued hitting him until he
got into his car.

Hannah Hess of Roll Call reported this:
“The dispute started around 12:30 a.m. inside a Northwest
Baltimore home, when Foster, 32, got into a verbal argument with the
39-year-old black male identified as his boyfriend.

“Foster put his boyfriend in a choke hold and stated, ‘I
want to kill you. Die dirty faggy,’ the man later told police. … As the
boyfriend fled toward the stairs, Foster chased him and warned, ‘When you reach
the fifth step, I am going to stab you.’

“Foster lunged at his boyfriend with the knife. But
Foster’s wife ‘got in the way’ and the knife then fell to the floor, the report
states.”
