Apparently ABC News interrupted regular programming (that’s a phrase you don’t hear much anymore) to announce the U.S. airstrikes on Iraq in the middle of a Kate Upton interview — and Twitter went crazy with angry viewers expressing their dismay.
ABC chose to announce, in a brief news report, that President Obama had followed through with the airstrikes option he mentioned in his speech last night. It was the first deadly attack by the U.S. in Iraq since the last troops left nearly three years ago. But Americans had something else on their mind, and they didn’t want to be interrupted from ogling Upton. 

Here’s how Mediaite reported the event in an especially snarky tone:
“This morning, President Barack Obama announced that the US began air strikes in Iraq against ISS. But like a true commie socialist, he made the announcement in the middle of Live with Kelly and Michael — specifically, in the middle of Michael Strahan interviewing Kelly (sic) Upton.
“And then he lost the trust of the American people.”
