So, a video of a Macomb Community College student feebly
explaining the huge Confederate flag flying from his pickup truck is making the
rounds online just as our first black president prepares to speak at MCC in
Warren later this week.
The video was shot by Ben Duell Fraser, is a video
producer for PishPosh.Tv, and posted by Deadline Detroit and the Detroit Free Press, along with commentaries by Fraser. The owner of the truck, Matt McGuire,
granted a fairly detailed interview stating his views about the flag, as well
as guns and President Obama.

What the MCC student didn’t say in the interview, what
was learned later based on his social media posts, is that he is a virulent
racist.

Here’s a bit of what Fraser wrote:  

“When Matt McGuire told me he ‘obviously wasn’t racist’,
I believed him. As people started looking through his Twitter and Instagram
history, they noticed that he called black people spooks, referred to Japanese
people as eggrolls, and called another group of people diaperheads. The list of
his ethnic indiscretions goes on and on. If he’s not racist, then I’d really
rather not meet any real racists any time soon.”

President Obama will speak on Wednesday at MCC south
campus about the skills programs at the college. Hopefully, the national media
will cover the event without mentioning the embarrassing Mr. McGuire.
