Last week, Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel was involved in a three-car crash in Macomb Township while on his way back from a function in Lenox Township. His car was rear-ended so hard that it was “totaled” but Hackel, after a quick trip to the hospital for X-rays, managed to make a ribbon-cutting event later that afternoon on time.
On Tuesday, Hackel was on his way to a major press conference in Chesterfield Township when he suffered a flat tire. Driving his personal vehicle, a 2012 Ford Escape, the executive made his way to the parking lot at the Sheriff’s Department despite the punctured tire.
“So, I was the one who delivered him,” said Sheriff Anthony Wickersham, who got Hackel to the press event virtually on time.
There’s no word as to whether any speed limits were broken in the process.
